Ingredients

  • 34 overripe bananas, mashed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted or browned
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 ¾ cups all‑purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cups semi‑sweet or dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 340°F (170°C). Grease or line an 8.5×4.5″ loaf pan.
  2. Mash bananas in a bowl until creamy.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, and Greek yogurt until smooth.
  4. Fold in mashed bananas.
  5. In another bowl, sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gently fold dry ingredients into wet until just combined.
  7. Stir in chocolate chips, reserving some for topping.
  8. Pour batter into pan, smooth top, sprinkle extra chips.
  9. Bake 65–75 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Cool in pan 10–15 minutes, transfer to rack, cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Use darker chocolate for less sweetness and more antioxidants. Swap half the flour with whole wheat or oat flour for extra fiber. Optional add‑ins: chopped nuts, shredded coconut, a pinch of cinnamon or espresso powder. Store cooled loaf in an airtight container or freeze slices individually for easy snacks.
